Iran music band to support quake victims

Iranian music band, Rastak, has held a concert in Istanbul to raise fund for Kermanshah quake victims.

Rastak group’s first concert in Istanbul was held on Thursday night November 23, 2017.

The group is to dedicate the fund raised in the concert for the victims affected by the devastating earthquake in the Kermanshah region in western Iran.

Rastak was founded in the summer of 1997 by Siamak Sepehri. For the past two decades the ensemble’s experimental work has focused on the sonic features of Iranian folklore and diverse cultures

 Rastak  has appeared on several international music festivals and has held many concerts in Iran, England, Austria, Germany, France, Italy, Spain,The Netherlands, Sweden, The USA, Canada, Australia, India, Japan, Malasya, Chile, Poland,Turkey, Georgia, Belgium, Oman, Belarus etc.

A 7.3-magnitude earthquake struck villages and towns in Iran’s western province of Kermanshah last week, killing hundreds and injuring thousands.

The quake is believed to hit the town of Sarpol-e Zahab, about 15km from the border in Kermanshah, the hardest. The death toll is expected to grow, some buildings are razed to ground and dozens are still trapped under rubble.
